SAP SuccessFactors Time Management – ​​A module to optimize working time management in your company

Employee Central is at the heart of the SAP SuccessFactors HCM suite, making it one of the most important modules on the platform. As an integral part of Employee Central, SAP Time Management is responsible for working time management in SAP SuccessFactors. It is a highly flexible solution that can be activated when needed. The use of Employee Central is a prerequisite for using SAP Time Management.

SAP Time Management consists of two parts: Time Off and Time Sheet. Time Off is used to manage absences, while Time Sheet is used to record attendances. Employees can easily request their absences via Employee Self-Service (ESS), such as vacation days, sick days, etc. These requests can be approved or rejected by supervisors via Manager Self-Service (MSS). Various tools give them a complete overview of the presence and absence of the team. At this point it is relevant to mention that Time Off and Time Sheet can be used both in combination and individually.

Absence management (time off) enables employees to record their absences. Various types of absence can be configured to reflect the different cases within the company. For example, a quota for holiday entitlement can be stored in order to calculate and save it according to legal regulations. Depending on the type of absence, there may also be links to Employee Central Payroll payroll.

Attendance recording (time sheet) is used to record the work done, whether on site at the employer or in the home office. The presence recording (time sheet) can be used in addition to the absence management (time off); it expands the basic elements with time accounts and their calculation logic. Among other things, you can specify which times flow into the respective account and whether wage types should be paid out via Employee Central Payroll.

In addition to Time Off and Time Sheet, there is an extension called "Time Tracking" that can be used to cover more complex use cases regarding the assessment of attendance. An additional license is required for this. However, Time Off and Time Sheet are included in the Employee Central license. With SAP Time Management companies can organize their working time management more efficiently and optimize their HR processes.
