Create log entries in payroll

If required, a technical log can be created during the billing run. It is also possible to output log entries for customer-specific operations and functions. In order for these to be displayed in tabular form, a few things must be observed. What exactly do you find out here.

Background:

In a customer development, input wage types from the RT table were transferred to output wage types and also placed in the RT table. In order to be able to see directly in the log which input wage type was transferred to which output wage type, including the amount, the log lines had to be output clearly in tabular form.

In addition, the information was stored in the detailed view of the log entry.

Realization:

In the SAP standard, the global table is used for logging PTEXT[] made available. Within the table there are four text fields and one field each for specifying the length of the text.

Here one could assume that the specification of the length when printing the log is adhered to. In fact, all four text fields are printed left-aligned with a space between them.

In order to implement the tabular view, the input wage type (3110) was stored in the first text field. In the second text field, all other information was specified with a fixed field length.

Salary 8P00 base salary 3.340,00

Further information:

  1. In the log table there is a field (TLEVEL) in which you can define the level of the entry. The log output is on level 0, the detailed view of the log is on level 1

For level 0, the length specifications per text field are not taken into account.
The length specifications are taken into account for level 1 (see screenshot for the detailed view of the log).
  2. A total of 0 characters are available for the log entry on level 74.
